When I set off on my journey to find a Christmas present for my brother, I had not the slightest clue what to buy for him. After some digging, I found out that he had been a sales rep for Cutco years prior for a time and because of that, had always envisioned getting a set for himself at some point. With this information, I embarked on yet another adventure to compare news articles, reviews, and other information to find a quality product and not just something with a big name. I had almost settled on Wustoff when I came across an article that mentioned Artisan Revere knives and decided to look further into them. Impressed by the previous reviews and content that I found on the website, I contacted AR to get more information and this is when my decision was officially and quickly cemented in stone over the other competitors.
Not long after I requested more information, I got a call from Dave himself who was able to meticulously answer every question that I had, ranging from how/where they’re made to warranty to specifics about the metal used. He was extremely personable and rushed the shipment to my brother because I had waited till the last minute to buy his gift. We spent a half an hour talking on the phone about his knives and company and he spoke to me like a friend rather than just some potential future customer. This is when I decided that not only would I be buying a set for my brother, but I would be purchasing a set for myself as well. He kept me updated at every step along the process and made this by far the best customer service I have ever encountered dealing with a business in my personal capacity or a vendor in my professional one.
For the knives themselves, amazing. You never truly understand what quality is until you experience it firsthand. Right away, the feel in the grip let me know that this was a worthwhile investment, especially for the amount of time I spend in the kitchen meal prepping and cooking 99% of meals for my family. I had previously purchased Shun knives but the chipping and brittleness of those left me feeling robbed for the amount of money I spent on them. I told my sister-in-law to let my brother know to be careful using his when he got his present and the next thing I know I get a text from him telling me first: “Amazing! Thank you!” followed by “these things are really sharp!” with a picture of a bandaged finger. These knives have made chopping the copious amounts of fruit and vegetables that we use in our meals fun rather than the tedious chore they were before with those other ones. Anyone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen will understand what I mean when I say that this is my go-to “daily driver” now for everything that I cut. I have since returned to AR to actively look for additional products that they sell and will soon by purchasing one of their cutting boards as well.I have since returned to AR to actively look for additional products that they sell and will soon by purchasing one of their cutting boards as well.
So do I recommend AR knives, obviously. If you’re still on the fence, just know that you can expect exemplary customer service and an outstanding product that will be passed down to your next generation. Cast your doubts aside and put your faith in Dave to upgrade your kitchen with a superior performance tool that is both practical, comfortable, and has individual aesthetic shape and pizazz.
